2019 EVENT DATES – JCPenney Frisco
Unfortunately, we will not be running our event this year, given all the circumstances with Covid 19.
We are working to make next year a great event.
We are praying for the families that we would of helped this year and all those in need.

Clothe a Child partners with area churches, organizations, individuals and businesses in the community to serve the new clothing needs of economically disadvantaged Kindergarten through 8th grade school children in Frisco, Little Elm, Prosper & Celina ISDs.
The Need: All communities have children in need of new clothes.  Unfortunately, not all families have the means to provide the basic clothing items they need for school – shoes, shirts, jackets, jeans, underwear, etc. As Christ followers in the community, we feel the call to help these children obtain new clothes.

Our Mission: Clothe a Child seeks to address the clothing needs of economically disadvantaged children in our communities through partnerships with JCPenney – Frisco Department Store, Frisco, Little Elm, Prosper & Celina ISDs, churches, friends & businesses.  We want to be intentional in addressing the ever-growing needs of children in our community.

Our Vision: Provide $125 of new clothing to each child in the program through our annual event at JCPenney in Frisco.  Volunteers (age 16 & over) are paired with a family to assist them in shopping.  Clothe a Child seeks to accomplish this goal by expanding its reach through partnerships with churches, businesses, and neighbors in the community.

What is Clothe a Child?: Clothe a Child was started in 1989 by Dr. Lawrence Kennedy of the North Church in Carrollton, TX.  This program was duplicated at McKinney Fellowship Bible Church in 1999.  In 2003, Clothe a Child was started in Frisco and has increased its impact each year. In 2008, children in Little Elm ISD were added to the Clothe a Child outreach. Prosper ISD joined the CAC partnership in 2011 with the Frisco and Little Elm ISDs. In 2013 we welcomed Celina ISD to the CAC partnership. In 2016, more than 2250 Frisco, Little Elm, Prosper and Celina ISD elementary & middle school children from nearly 1450 families received $100 of new clothing through the Clothe a Child program due to the generosity of our communities.

Clothe a Child seeks to impact as many qualified families from as many schools in our communities as possible. School counselors of Frisco, Little Elm, Prosper & Celina ISDs identify children through interaction with the families and the “free & reduced lunch” program. The counselor provides each qualified child an application to be completed by the parents/guardians. The completed applications are returned to the school, and then turned into a Clothe a Child committee for review. Each family is contacted to confirm their children’s acceptance into the program.
